Now I'm not complaining about having Elektra or the Punisher in this season, as I think both characters are really strong additions. My only concern is; is it too much too soon? I trust Netflix with Marvel properties. Jessica Jones went from no name to main stage pretty quickly and we can't pretend it wasn't helped by the uncensored world of Netflix storytelling. We got action, we got pain and overall, the stories are based in a lot more realism than the Marvel movies.
Yes I know, suspension of disbelief is important, but when you do such a good job with Jessica Jones, and we barely see her use her powers, it proves a good story can be told in the right way. I didn't have to see her use her powers and when she finally does in the end, it was almost jarring to me.
Daredevil, Elektra and Punisher don't really have powers to speak of, they just happen to be at peak performance and specialists in their respective combat styles. Which is why I'm concerned about two major players being added to the story. If Netflix is staying true to their format, we can expect 13 episodes... That means 13 episodes to introduce Elektra, Punisher, The Hand, deal with the law practice and the fallout from last season. All this to say... either we are getting the high, intense and fast paced telling of these tales or unfortunately poor ones.
