Remember when Bell President Mary Ann Turcke started complaining that watching US Netflix in Canada is stealing? It seems Netflix thought she was right. Just off the heals of their global expansion press release, Netflix is now making the hard stance that it will limit access to content from other regions.
In the statement written by Netflix's Vice President of Content Delivery Architecture; David Fullagar, the company outlines how it will lock down access through proxies and unblockers to their site.
I understand how licensing partners may not enjoy the fact that someone in Montreal can have a look at the UK or US catalogs, but is it not better to know that the majority of Netflix users are paying customers. Now people will just have to access these shows and movies on other illegal streaming and torrents sites.
